Education and Training is a career cluster area in which Calhoun City Schools empowers superheroes. Through the implementation of the Early Childhood Education and Teaching as a Profession pathways, students learn about the early brain development, developmentally appropriate parenting, and the health, safety, and nutrition of children. These pathways prepare students for teaching internships and work-based learning experiences to gain real-world experiences in classrooms at the Calhoun Early Learning Academy and Calhoun Educational Complex. Additionally, 14 students from the education training programs are currently involved in the dual enrollment Early Childhood Care and Education program through Georgia Northwestern Technical College.

Education students also have the opportunity to learn using live simulations through a grant and partnership with the University of West Georgia. Additionally, with the use of the Jacket Junction Mobile Learning Lab, students can extend their hands-on experiences to the community and partnerships with the Gordon County Library and the Voluntary Action Center.

Once students graduate and continue pursuing the education and training field, they become part of the Calhoun City Schools’ "Grow Our Own" program. The continued communication of students and support from veteran educators is in place to support young educators throughout their post-secondary transition.

The lead superheroes of the education and training programs are Mrs. Sarah Brown and Mrs. Beth Holcomb. Sarah served as a Calhoun teacher in primary, elementary, and middle grades before joining the high school this year. Beth retired as the principal of Calhoun Elementary School and is in her third year as the teaching as a profession teacher. Both of these superheroes have a passion for preparing the teachers of the future!
