CMS 2024-2025 TOTY | Calhoun Middle School is proud to announce Mrs. Megan Woodman as the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year. This school year marks her 11th year in education and she has served 10 years with Calhoun City Schools. Mrs. Woodman teaches 8th grade math and enhanced algebra I at CMS. Mrs. Woodman is a true example of a servant leader as she is the math department lead, Capturing Kids’ Heart Process Champion lead, and the Student Government Association sponsor at CMS.
Mrs. Woodman holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in early childhood education from The University of West Georgia. Mrs. Woodman also holds ESOL, gifted, and STEM endorsements. She is married to Adam Woodman, and they have one child, Knox, who is a Junior Jacket at the CELA this year.
Mrs. Woodman’s peers shared the following: "She is an enthusiastic educator who not only works hard at teaching math rigorously but also works hard at building relationships with her students. She is energetic and real. Mrs. Woodman is fun and brings a good vibe to all she does. She is a mentor, department lead, and serves on several committees at CMS. She is someone who is willing to help everyone at any time. She lifts others up. Mrs. Woodman is a team player and always has a positive attitude. She is flexible and will do anything she can to add benefit to her school community. She thinks "quick on her feet" and can "roll with the punches". She is able to connect with the students. Mrs. Woodman is consistent and has high expectations. She holds her students accountable both academically and behaviorally. Not only is Mrs. Woodman a great teacher, but she is a great friend to all staff. Her laughs are infectious, and she can lighten up any mood."
