Calhoun High School's senior, Kevyn Jones, shines as the Calhoun College and Career Academy (CCCA) Student Spotlight. Kevyn's Healthcare teacher, Lori Fisher, nominated her for this distinguished recognition.
Kevyn stands out as our CCCA Spotlight Student due to her exceptional qualities. She embodies maturity, strong organizational skills, self-reliance, and a level of compassion and empathy that goes beyond her years. Her leadership talents are evident in both athletics and the numerous leadership roles she has assumed during her high school journey. Kevyn's caring nature and empathy shine through her service to fellow students and the community. She actively seeks opportunities for learning and personal growth, demonstrating a self-directed and self-motivated approach that aligns perfectly with Calhoun City Schools' mission of lifelong learning and pursuit of excellence.
Kevyn's list of accomplishments is impressive: she serves as the Senior Class President, Georgia HOSA's Region One Representative, 2022-2023 CHS HOSA President, Allied Health Pathway Completer with Distinction, and is currently enrolled in both the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program. By the time she graduates, she will have amassed over 30 hours of college credit!
Kevyn is a dedicated member of HOSA, the Career and Technical Student Organization for future healthcare professionals. HOSA's mission is to empower future health professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience. When asked about her choice of the healthcare pathway, Kevyn shared, "Healthcare was not my original pathway choice. I chose to stay in this pathway because Ms. Fisher made even the boring material intriguing and sparked my passion for helping others through medicine. I also chose to stay because I enjoyed all the opportunities I was able to participate in through HOSA."
Looking ahead, Kevyn has ambitious plans. She intends to attend the University of Alabama Birmingham to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Cancer Biology. Following her undergraduate studies, she aspires to apply to various medical schools, aiming for a Doctorate in Medicine. Ultimately, her dream is to become an orthopedic surgeon.
Kevyn's future success is evident, and we extend our warmest congratulations to her for being selected as the CCCA Student Spotlight! #CCSHeroes #DiscoverTheHeroWithinYou
