May 7, 2024 – Today was an important day for several seniors at CHS, who participated in a signing day event held by the Calhoun College and Career Academy (CCCA). The ceremony took place at the Calhoun Performing Arts Center, with many families and friends in attendance to celebrate the seniors' future career paths. The event aimed to generate excitement for careers in teaching, skilled trades, and the military, offering a special moment for the seniors to celebrate their accomplishments and look forward to their promising futures.
The event kicked off by honoring a group of graduating seniors from the Calhoun High School Class of 2024 who are planning careers in education. Following this, seniors committing to skilled trade careers were recognized for their plans to join the workforce, enter apprenticeships, or pursue technical training after graduation. The ceremony concluded with a salute to the courageous seniors who have enlisted in the armed forces. Congratulations to all of them!
Dr. Brandi Hayes, Director of Calhoun College and Career Academy, expressed her pride, stating, "Today's signing event was a tremendous success. I am incredibly proud of each of these 2024 graduates and the commitments they've made toward their successful futures."
Special thanks go to the Georgia Foundation for Public Education for their financial support of this event!
