Calhoun, GA — Calhoun High School is proud to announce that senior Bella Peek has been selected to serve on the Georgia Department of Education’s 2024-2025 Student Advisory Council. State School Superintendent Richard Woods selected Bella from over 1,550 applicants statewide to be one of only 75 students on this year’s council.
As a member of the Student Advisory Council, Bella will provide valuable feedback on the impact of state policies in the classroom, discuss educational issues, and serve as an ambassador for students at Calhoun High School. Council members will meet with Superintendent Woods throughout the year and participate in service projects to benefit schools and students across Georgia.
“We are thrilled to have Bella represent Calhoun High School on this prestigious council,” said Casey Parker, Principal of Calhoun High School. “Bella’s passion and dedication make her an excellent advocate for our students and community, and her selection is a testament to her leadership and vision for the future of education.”
The first Student Advisory Council meeting will be held in November at the Georgia Department of Education’s offices. Bella will join other young leaders to share ideas and perspectives that shape the direction of education for the state of Georgia.
