Hope Stephenson Named Principal of Calhoun Elementary School

Calhoun City Schools is proud to announce an exciting development within Calhoun Elementary School's leadership team. Hope Stephenson, who has dedicated over 13 years of service as an assistant principal across elementary, middle, and high school levels, has been appointed as the new principal of Calhoun Elementary. Mrs. Stephenson is a 1998 graduate of Coosa High School, and brings a rich educational background to her new role, holding a Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education from Shorter College, a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College, and a Specialist in Educational Administration and Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University. Additionally, she is a member of the 2024 cohort of the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Calhoun-Gordon County.

With a strong foundation in literacy, Mrs. Stephenson's expertise will be vital to the success of academic programs as new ELA standards are rolled out in the coming year. She is set to collaborate closely with current CES principal, Dr. Holley, ensuring a smooth transition into her new role this spring.
