Tonight’s Board of Education meeting celebrated the many “Good Things” happening at CCS!
Board Chair Rhoda Washington led the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a thoughtful invocation from Board Secretary Becky Gilbert-George.
Director of College & Career Programs, Dr. Brandi Hayes, proudly recognized our Calhoun High FFA National Winners for their achievements at the National Competition last spring. Led by Dr. Trish Williams, these future leaders in agriculture shared their projects and plans beyond graduation and presented a special holiday gift to the Board from the CHS greenhouse.
Next, Calhoun City Police Chief Tony Pyle took the floor to honor School Resource Officer Sergeant Dawn Graham with the prestigious 2024 Medal of Valor award. Chief Pyle praised Sergeant Graham for her unwavering bravery, sacrifices, and dedication to protecting our schools and community. Her recognition earned a well-deserved standing ovation, setting a tone of gratitude and pride.
We are incredibly proud to see our Yellow Jacket family continue to shine!
Reminder: There will be no school on Wednesday, Dec. 18 - as we SWARM the Benz to support our Jackets, with transportation resources required for this exciting State Championship game! United We Stand. Together We Swarm! #proudtobeayellowjacket
