SGT

On Wednesday, March 12, Calhoun City Schools hosted its annual Spring School Governance Team (SGT) Training, reinforcing the essential role of parents, educators, and community members in shaping local school decisions.

As part of the district’s Charter System, SGTs provide valuable input on school improvement efforts, budgeting, and academic initiatives, ensuring that schools have the flexibility to meet the unique needs of students. The training focused on effective communication strategies to foster collaboration and engagement, strategic planning efforts, school improvement priorities, flexibility and innovation in enhancing student opportunities, and strengthening community partnerships.

"We are fortunate to be a Charter System, which provides the flexibility to innovate and enhance opportunities for all students," stated Superintendent Dr. Michele Taylor. "The recent training allowed us to reflect on our progress, strengthen communication strategies, and continue the important work of strategic planning. The dedication of our Board of Education, School and System Governance Team members, and College & Career Academy Board of Directors plays a vital role in shaping the future of our schools and ensuring success for all students."
