Earlier this month, the Rota Kids group from Calhoun Elementary School worked with many community volunteers to label trees for the Arbor Day Free Tree Giveaway. They also received a compost bin from Sonoraville High School students, which will be used to compost materials in the school gardens at the CPES Complex. We are grateful to CES Rota Kids and Angie Gravitt for their community service and for making a positive impact! #ServiceAboveSelf #CCSHeroes #Inspire #Empower

Join us in spreading kindness this month by treating a furry friend in Calhoun/Gordon County! Drop off your donations at the CPS/CES Complex throughout February. The 5th grade Rota Kids Club will deliver the items to Paw Angels Animal Rescue on Thursday, February 29th.

Calhoun City Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay, today, January 9, 2024. We want to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community members, and we encourage you to exercise caution when traveling. Please adjust your child's drop-off time by adding two hours to their regular schedule. Additionally, buses will run two hours behind their usual route times.
We encourage parents, staff and our young drivers to exercise extreme caution on our roads.
Again, students and staff should arrive two hours later than they would on a regular school day. Busses will operate on a two-hour delay.

UPDATE (1:50 pm): Calhoun Middle and High School are no longer in lockdown. The lockdown was initiated due to a threatening post on social media. The post was found to be dated from years prior; however, in an abundance of caution, local law enforcement searched areas of the facility and students were held in lockdown. Thank you to everyone for your support as we work to guarantee the safety of our children.

The campus of Calhoun Middle and High School is currently under a lockdown while police investigate a concerning social media posting. We will post as soon as the lockdown is lifted.

At Calhoun City Schools, our leadership team is dedicated to elevating our standards from good to great.
