Congratulations to the CHS Cross Country teams on their impressive sweep at the 2023 Gordon County Championship!
Carolynn Dooley and Demetrius Clavino cruised to overall victories, led the way for Calhoun, and were named individual champions. The Calhoun girls placed five in the top 10, with Giulianna Lopez (5th), Beyonce Brito (7th), Meleana Adcock (8th), and Maggie Malone (9th) all earning medals. The Calhoun boys finished with a perfect score of 15 for the first time in decades on their way to placing nine boys in the top eleven. Xavier Hinojosa (2nd), Israel Lopez (3rd), Anthony Velazquez (4th), Leyver Mendez (5th), James Allen (7th), Kevin Jacobo (8th), and Walker Hurd (10th) all medaled. The Jackets will race again on September 30th at the Alexanders/Asics Invitational in Fairburn, Georgia. Way to go, Jackets! 🏆🐝
