Calhoun City Schools was well represented at the Georgia Deeper Learning Network Fall Exhibition at Mercer University on Wednesday, October 4. Students and parents shared their experiences with Odyssey of the Mind, STEM initiatives and Calhoun City Schools "5 C's of Success": critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creative problem solving, and community.
The Georgia Deeper Learning Network was established through a series of meetings with educators, policy makers, civic leaders, business leaders and students. Deeper learning develops the skills and mindsets that students need to build value for their future and have an impact on their communities. Mrs. Angie Gravitt and Mrs. Melea Robbins have championed “deeper learning” in the classroom and have been strong advocates for Calhoun City Schools' journey of continuous improvement with representatives from across Georgia.
The goals of the network are to expand access to deeper learning at scale across Georgia and drive greater youth engagement so as to energize vibrant communities for future prosperity and workforce readiness. Calhoun City Schools shares these goals as they continue to strive to inspire all students to become lifelong learners in the pursuit of excellence.
