During Tuesday night's CHS basketball game, Coach Mike McEntyre was honored in front of the home crowd for his exemplary dedication and contributions to Calhoun City Schools. He has faithfully kept the clock for Calhoun High School basketball games for an impressive 45 seasons, from 1979 to 2024, and for 17 seasons for Calhoun Middle School games. 🐝
In addition to his invaluable contributions, his illustrious coaching career began in 1974 with the revitalization of the CMS basketball program. Over the course of 17 seasons, he boasted a remarkable record of 308 wins, 76 losses, and one tie, yielding an impressive 80% winning rate. Under his guidance, his teams secured an astounding 16 Region Championships and 11 Tournament Championships, which included seven undefeated seasons.
Coach McEntyre's unwavering dedication and unparalleled achievements serve as a testament to his enduring impact on the community and beyond.
