Calhoun, GA– Calhoun City Schools is proud to announce that Calhoun Middle School and Calhoun High School have been recognized as Math Leaders by the Georgia Department of Education. Calhoun Middle School earned Outstanding Achievement, and Calhoun High School was recognized for Growth in mathematics. Awards were given at the middle and high school levels based on the Algebra: Concepts and Connections EOC, the state test for mathematics in high school.
The Math Leader Awards honor schools that have shown exceptional achievement or growth in the percentage of students scoring at the Proficient Learner level or above in mathematics. This recognition reflects the hard work of our students, educators, and community in mastering the new K-12 mathematics standards, which help build a strong foundation in numeracy.

This achievement reflects the commitment of our educators and students.”
Georgia’s new K-12 mathematics standards were implemented during the 2023-2024 school year, and the success of Calhoun Middle and High School highlights the strength of these standards in helping students gain confidence in mathematics.
