Calhoun Middle School celebrated academic excellence by hosting its annual school-wide Spelling Bee on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Thirteen students participated in this year’s competition. Representing 7th grade were Jose Briones, Audrey Dobbs, Kalil Monsour, and Dax Murphy. Representing 8th grade were Jan Soto Caban, Dodd Cornelison, Julia Jensen, Ayden Lampe, Isabella Pena, Sarah Pass, Hajrah Qureshi, Samarah Texeira, and Tanisha Venkatesu.
Participants were selected through a preliminary round that included all middle school students. After several intense rounds, Ayden Lampe secured third place, Sarah Pass earned second place, and Dax Murphy emerged as the overall school winner.
Congratulations to our top three spellers, who will advance to compete in the Calhoun City Schools District-Wide Spelling Bee on January 23rd!
